People who search amicus lending usually want to hear from real borrowers first, so we ask for a 1-to-5-star rating only after someone finishes the request process and sees their result.
Across 2,424 borrower ratings, the average is 4.5 stars, and about 27,000 borrowers have used the service so far. A rating describes the request and matching experience: how easy the form was, how clear the offers were and whether the process felt respectful. It does not rate any single lender's personal loan product, because each lender sets its own APR, fees, terms and funding timeline.

What Reviewers Praise Most
Reviewers who compared amicus lending offers most often praise the speed of the form, the side-by-side view of personal loan offers and the fact that each offer shows its APR, monthly payment and total repaid before anything is accepted.
Common themes in positive comments:
Speed. Most people finish the form in about five minutes, and many see a match or a decline message within minutes.
One request, several offers. Borrowers like comparing personal loan lenders without filling out a separate application for each one.
Clear total cost. Seeing the total repaid helps people spot an origination fee they might otherwise miss.
No pressure. The service is free, and there is no obligation to accept any offer.
Funding time. Funds often arrive as soon as the next business day after approval and verification, though that timing is never promised.
Many five-star reviewers mention using a small personal loan for a single urgent cost, such as a water heater or a vet bill, and choosing a short term so the balance is gone within months.
What Reviewers Criticize
Critical amicus lending feedback usually describes four problems: receiving no offer, receiving personal loan offers with higher APRs than expected, being asked for extra documents by a lender, and getting more marketing emails or calls than they anticipated.
We publish those comments because they are real and because they help the next borrower set fair expectations:
No offer. Lenders decide approval on their own, using credit, income, existing debt and state rules. Some personal loan requests simply do not match any lender in the network.
High APRs. The typical range across the network is an estimated 6% to 35.99%. Borrowers with fair or limited credit often see offers near the upper end. Our page on estimated rates and APR ranges explains what pushes a quote up or down.
Extra documents. After you accept, a lender may ask for pay stubs, bank statements or ID before funding. That step belongs to the lender, and it can add a day or two.
Marketing contact. A few reviewers received more emails than they expected. You can unsubscribe from any message, and the consent language on the form explains who may contact you.
None of these complaints are hidden or edited out. A 3-star review that explains a slow verification is often more useful than a 5-star review that only says "great."
How We Handle Complaints
Every complaint is read by a person on our team, logged, and answered by email, and when the issue involves a lender's decision we explain what we can and cannot change.
We do not control approval, APR, fees or funding on any personal loan, so we cannot rewrite an offer, even for someone who found us through amicus lending research. What we can do:
Explain why a request may not have matched and what usually improves the odds next time.
Stop marketing messages from our side and confirm your preferences were updated.
Pass a documented concern about a personal loan lender's conduct back to the network for review.
Process requests to see or delete the personal information you submitted.
To raise a concern, use our contact page for questions and complaints and include the email address you used on the form so we can find your amicus lending request quickly. We never ask for your bank password or a fee to resolve a complaint.
How to Read Amicus Lending Reviews Critically
Readers who look up amicus lending reviews, or reviews of any personal loan matching service, should check whether each review sounds specific, mentions real costs and admits trade-offs, because vague perfect praise is a common sign of fake feedback.
Red flags to watch for on any review site:
Dozens of five-star reviews posted on the same day with similar wording.
Reviews that promise approval for everyone or claim credit history does not matter.
No mention of the loan purpose, amount, term or APR.
A service that claims it is the lender when it only shares your request.
No negative or mixed reviews at all, which is statistically unlikely.
Also ask how a site earns money. We are paid by lenders and partners in the network, and our advertiser disclosure on how we are compensated explains how that works. Before you accept any personal loan offer, compare it against other options; our side-by-side table that lets you compare lenders by APR and terms is a good second check. Good amicus loans research means weighing the reviews, the disclosure and the actual offer in front of you.

Helpful, but my inbox filled up
I submitted one request for a transmission repair and got two offers to compare. The process itself was quick, but I received more marketing emails than I expected over the next few weeks. I picked the lower APR offer and it worked out, though I had to unsubscribe from several lists.

Clear offers, one extra document request
Moving across town cost more than I planned, so I filled out the form on my lunch break. Three lenders made offers and the comparison was easy to read. The lender I chose asked for two recent pay stubs before funding, which added a day, but the money arrived after that.

Good rate, wish for a shorter term
My dentist quoted a crown and I did not want it on a credit card. I compared a few offers side by side and took a personal loan with a 12-month term at an APR well below my card. I wish one lender had offered a shorter term, but overall I am satisfied with the choice.

Quick answers
Questions about reviews
Are negative reviews removed from this page?
No. Mixed and critical personal loan reviews stay up alongside positive ones, including comments about high APRs, slow verification and extra marketing emails. We only remove a review if it contains personal account details, abusive language or information that could identify another person, and we never edit a reviewer's star rating.
Are reviewers paid or rewarded for leaving a rating?
No. Borrowers are asked for a rating after finishing the request, and there is no payment, discount or prize for leaving one. A reviewer can skip the prompt entirely. Paying for reviews would make the 4.5-star average meaningless, which is the opposite of what a reader comparing services needs.
Does a five-star review mean I will get the same APR as that borrower?
No. Each lender sets its own personal loan APR based on your credit, income, existing debt, loan amount, term and state. Two borrowers asking for the same amount on the same day can see very different offers. Treat a review as a picture of the amicus lending process, not a preview of your rate.
Can I leave a review if I did not accept any offer?
Yes. Borrowers who declined every offer, or who received no offer at all, are asked for a rating just like those who accepted one. Their feedback is especially useful because it shows how the service feels when the outcome is disappointing, not only when it goes well.
